The Yacht Club de Monaco was founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco. The current President is Prince Albert II of Monaco, who still promotes many sporting events: Tournoi International de Snipes, Trophée Losange d'Or, Championnat International de la Méditerranée de Star Class, etc.
